I wassent reelly upset! Hahahaaa! But Chuck was cheeky tho! Still, he is a dragon, issent he? Hahhaa...

***************

Well, Peeps, I'm bloggin erly today in the hope that I can catch lots ov yu befor yu fynalize yor most important disizion ov the day: wat underpants to put on.

May I remind yu all that Gillingham ar playin today? An their charnses will be graytely improovd if yu selekt that nice, crisp BLOO pair on the left there. That's them. Grayte. Now giv them a littol frolick (wat Daddy duz iz, he leevs them on the bed wiv me wile he goze an haz a wash. I can then frolick them for him, bein as I am a helpful Bear) an get them on. If yor a man, yu'll need to do a littol wiggol next, then WA-HEYY! An weer all set for the day!

***************
Next, to a Hero ov a Bear hoo I'm shor wud hav enjoyd a dam good frolick, if pants haddent been rashund at the time. I meen ov corse, Voytek, the Polish Bear.

He helpt the Polish Army in the secund werld war. They adoptid him at ferst, but then, wen the army went to Italy, the ownly way they cood tayke him along waz if they enlisted him! So they did! He carreed lots ov their hevy ekwipment, inkloodin the hevyest bullets. Wow!
Voytek, sayin "Look, Kletchekovsky, it may hav startid as a gayme, but yu punch me agen an I'll hav yer arm off!"

Voytek, helpin to carry stuff on bord ship. For this he waz rewardid graytely wiv choklit peanuts. Pants, alas, wer rashund durin the war.

Arfter the war he went to Scotland whare he hung owt wiv the solgers, enjoyin a wee ciggy an a bottol ov beer. Wen the solgers went bak to Poland he moovd into Edinburgh Zoo whare he becayme a legend, an livd till 1963.

He is in the news today becos sumwun is rytin a book abowt him, an they want a stachew mayde to onnor him. I oviussly giv the campayne my hartyest approoval.

I also think that the gift shop at Edinburgh Zoo shud start to sell pants wiv pikchers ov him on them. Wa-heyyy!

Heer's a link to the story: heer!

Bye fer now!

Oh, Bobber! That is one very cool bear. No wonder someone is writing a book about him. Too bad we couldn't have met him ourselves.

And, you DID catch me early enough that I'll make sure my hooman girl wears blue pants today. She is all about supporting you and your local team.

Goober love,
Stanley

Hi there!
Was really interested in that story about Voytek. I must have seen him, as the first time I went to Edinburgh zoo was as a little girl in 1962! Yes I'm old!

Have you seen that documentary on all those spy pidgeons they used in ww2 Bob, its a little similar I guess.

What a heroic bear, and Voytek is a great bear-name, sounds a bit 'star trekky'.
(About hats - I look for the label inside, and that always goes at the back. That knowledge has saved me from much embarrassment at weddings.)
